Emilie Lee

Emilie (b.1981) earned a BFA in illustration from RISD in 2003 before pursuing a life of outdoor adventure. While exploring the landscapes of the American west, she guided rock climbing, taught yoga, and led backpacking and canoe expeditions. She lived in a school bus she converted to run on recycled vegetable oil and illustrated outdoor magazines. In 2007, she immersed herself in traditional painting, first at the Corry Studio of Figurative Art, and then at the Water Street Atelier and the Hudson River Fellowship. Emilie has a special interest in landscape painting grounded in academic training and inspired by a love of adventure in the outdoors.
