Course Description

This class focuses on studying structure, anatomy, light, and form in the figure from life. Students will work using a direct painting method — no preliminary drawing on paper or transfer. The same pose will be held for all ten sessions, and students will begin working directly on the canvas in paint or charcoal, then render the forms part by part through to completion.

Diana will demonstrate one day each week, painting the same pose while discussing her process. Students will paint their own work alongside her during the demo, and are encouraged to watch closely, ask questions during breaks, and work in parallel with her. On the other class day, Diana will give individual critiques to each student. There are no individual critiques on demo days.
