2024 Fellows

Hometown: Strasbourg, France
Through my work, I seek to authentically communicate my perception of the beauty I see in subjects of nature. I especially appreciate painting in plein-air, where the childlike enthusiasm I get from being in the open helps me approach the forms of nature with greater humility and care. I believe that cultivating such enthusiasm and reverence is essential to create beautiful works that reflect the true character of their subject.
I am 21 years old and grew up in Strasbourg, France. I was fortunate to have a family who exposed me to great art from a young age and supported my interest in drawing. This passion has always been a part of my life, but it was during a gap year in Florence that I was introduced to a classical and academic method. I now study Art History and Biblical studies in St Andrews, Scotland. Studying in Scotland has given me access to wonderful scenery, from which I’ve gained great inspiration. I enjoy the ease of grabbing my plein-air kit (when the weather permits) and leaving the small town of St Andrews in search of a view to paint. My artistic journey so far has largely consisted of independent work, building on the skills acquired during workshops in Florence and London. Attending the Hudson River Fellowship in 2024 and being surrounded by so many great artists has encouraged me to continue working on my art.
