Plein-air and studio Landscape Painting have become a very important part of my discipline as an artist. While my formal training is in Figure and Portraiture, I have been dedicating a large part of my time to evolve as a landscape painter. It is very important for me to be out in nature and experiencing new sights and impressions. I have been very fortunate that through my work as a painter I have been able to travel to other countries on short trips to teach workshops and to be part of fellowships and residencies. While traveling I always devote as much free time as possible to sketching en Plein Air and study the local landscapes. As my work progresses, I see how closely Landscape and Figure genres are connected. My goal is to combine the two worlds in large compositions of my own, in a manner inspired by the old masters.
