Scholarships
The GCA thanks all our generous scholarship donors for their continuing support of our hardworking and talented students!
The Morris and Alma Schapiro Fund Scholarships
The Morris and Alma Schapiro Fund’s founding and continuing support for GCA has enabled the studies and careers of many diligent and inspired full time core students since 2006. Merit-based scholarships are awarded towards tuition to both incoming students as well as continuing students.
The Alfred and Jane Ross Scholarship Program
The Alfred and Jane Ross Foundation generously funds scholarships for full time students in GCA’s core program and for younger artists in our teen programming. The foundation hopes to encourage students who aspire to artistic excellence and donors who may be inspired to offer similar support.
David S. Boger Patron Scholarship for International Students
GCA is delighted to begin awarding scholarships to international students. The David S. Boger Scholarship for International Student offers partial tuition scholarships to incoming international students. Upon admission into the Drawing year, students can submit a scholarship application. Students are responsible for the living expenses and art supplies for the duration of the program.
The Røros Foundation, Eric and Christine Stengel
The Roros Foundation through the generosity of Eric and Christine Stengel award scholarships of varying amounts to five core students.
Core Monthly Structure Prix
This prize is awarded monthly to students in Colleen Barry’s Figure Structure Drawing class in our full time core program. The poses averages 20 hours over 5 sessions and students are instructed in anatomy, proportion and form. Inspired by the cash awards given to the best student drawing every week to encourage healthy competition among peers at the Academy Julien in Paris in the 19th Century, the Structure Prix winners receives $500. Each month Colleen Barry invites another GCA instructor to join her in choosing the winner.
