Schedule: 10am – 1pm workshop; 1-2pm lunch; 2 – 5pm workshop

Age range: 13 – 18 years old

Course Description
In this portrait class, artists will learn how to block in and render a portrait from the model. We will work on building momentum and confidence with portrait sketches before we render a 2 day portrait. We will cover foundational concepts such as anatomy, comparative measurement, how to achieve the likeness of the model, and learn the GCA philosophy of rendering form.
Day 1-3: Practice blocking in with 3 one day portrait sketches
Day 4-5: Block in and render a finished portrait drawing
