Ken Salaz (1970) Was raised in numerous locations with his family including Mexico, Arizona, and West Virginia. His heritage is a rich blend of Native American and Irish. After graduating from Cooper Union, Mr. Salaz spent several years traveling the world, through Asia, Central and South America, and Europe painting landscapes and copying masterworks at numerous Museums. He continued his education with Leonid Gervitz of the Repin Academy, Nelson Shanks and Jacob Collins. His mastery of technique shows a diverse flexibility of expression, allowing him to capture a wide range of light effects. His work is held in numerous prominent collections across the United States. His work and techniques have been featured numerous times in notable Magazines and Publications. Mr. Salaz is seen by many as a unique voice emerging from the tonalist tradition and breaking into new ground with his own modern voice of Poetic Realism. Grounded in what Mr. Salaz terms “Contemplative Painting”, his paintings are created out of the union of deep ideas rooted in the Transcendentalist philosophy of Emerson and the direct raw experience of Nature. He has attainted the recognition as a Living Master by the Art Renewal Center.

His book entitled “Landscapes in Oil” has just been released, and has been receiving overwhelming recognition and is already considered a standard in the field. His new DVD “Magestic Landscapes was also just released and is receiving high praise. He is the founder of the Hudson River Landscape Atelier located in Tarrytown, NY and an instructor at Grand Central Atelier.

Mr. Salaz is also a highly accomplished Magician, Mentalist, and Pick-Pocket, entertaining on National TV shows such as Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
