Location: Northwest corner of CT, outside Lakeville, CT,
*specifically, the popular painting vista across the road from Fairfield Farm!
Schedule: 9am – 12pm workshop; 12-1pm lunch; 1 – 4pm workshop
Limit: 12 students
Tuition: $525 ($262.50 deposit upon enrollment)
Tuition balance is due by May 1, 2024.
In the event of rain, we will contact the students with an update, but we may still paint on location from a sheltered/covered spot.
Course Description
Format
2 hours discussing materials & techniques through a demo.
4 hours of individual painting with critiques
Students will execute a multi-day plein air painting with techniques used by the Hudson River School painters.
Open to all skill levels, the goal of this workshop is to teach a traditional approach to landscape painting. We will cover the fundamentals of composition, and we will go over strategies on using color and value to create an atmospheric painting on site. There will be a special emphasis on drawing and indirect painting.
